Chapter Board Officer Positions

IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT – Acts as an advisor to the President to maintain continuity on the Board.

PRESIDENT – Supervises the Chapter Officers, presides over board meetings, and represents the Chapter at events requiring actions by the Chapter. The Chapter President is responsible for the Chapter files.

VICE PRESIDENT – Assumes the duties of the President in the absence or inability of the President to serve. They perform duties assigned by the President. The Vice President takes on the President role the following year.

SECRETARY – Records and files the minutes of all meetings, tallies votes, organizes Chapter documents such as agendas and meeting minutes. Takes and distributes notes for board meetings.

TREASURER – Receives and distributes funds and prepares the Chapter’s budget.  They maintain the Chapter’s bank accounts, submits tax reports to the IRS and provides financial reports at Board Meetings.

NEWSLETTER EDITOR – Produces the Chapter newsletter, The Magpie, with the assistance of the Board. The Magpie is sent out 3 times a year.  The winter issue focused on elections and the other issues focused on current events and articles about the region.

CHAPTER REPRESENTATIVE TO THE WESTERN SECTION –  A liaison to the Western Section and a voting member of both Boards. They attend both Board meetings and provide updates to both Boards and are a contact among the Section, Chapters, and members.

Committee Positions

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE CHAIR – Coordinates the planning and implementation of workshops, symposiums, seminars, and social mixers.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE CHAIR – Notifies schools within the Chapter’s boundaries of travel grants and academic scholarships. They coordinate scholarship applications and notify applicants of scholarship application outcomes.

CONSERVATION AFFAIRS COMMITTE CHAIR – Attends the monthly Western Section Conservation Affairs committee meeting. They coordinate with the Chapter to provide public comments on wildlife related legislation and rule changes. 

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE CHAIR – Maintains up-to-date records of past and current members. They act as a lead in correspondence for the Chapter.

TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE CHAIR – Maintains the Chapter’s website and social media. Creates fliers and social media posts for distribution.

NORTHER REGION COMMITTEE CHAIR – Facilitates and coordinates Chapter activities in the northern part of the Chapter’s boundaries.
